Where to Snorkel?

Any recommendations on where to snorkel?

 

I read the RCCL trip to Pinel was not so great for snorkeling.

 

RCCL arrives on a Monday. I have read that Creole Rock is a good snorkel spot, but Aquamania doesn't run on Mondays, and I haven't been able to find another company that runs a half day boat on Monday to Creole Rock.

 

I've also read that Happy BAy is good for snorkeling, but hard to get to. If we were to try getting there from Friar's bay, how difficult is it going to be to get a taxi back to the ship? Do the taxi drivers carry cell phones? Could we arrange to call our driver who dropped us off when we are ready to return?

 

Any other suggestions on snorkeling?

We think Creole Rock is the best snorkeling available on St. Maarten/Martin. We've been there twice on the Golden Eagle, and once on Aquamania's Sand Dollar.

 

If San Dollar isn't operating (are you certain?) how about taking a taxi to Grand Case Beach Club and snorkeling with the watersports people there?
