Calling home while in port

We're sailing on the Crown in February and are wondering what options we'll have for calling home from the various islands. Does anyone know if AT&T prepaid phone cards will work from pay phones in port? My sister and her husband own their own business and will have to make calls home routinely. Thanks!!:)

I buy my phone cards at Sames Club and I think they are AT&T. They worked on some Islands and a couple they did not. I would call the # thats on the back of the card and find out. If not you can also purchase a calling card on the Islands.

Your cell phone will work as a local call when in St. Thomas. I'm here now.

Many ports have a phone facility "area" right at the pier. One signs up, goes to a booth, and dials. When one finishes the call, one pays in US $ on the way out. Charges are $1 per minute. /Sultan

I buy a calling card at the club based in KIRKLAND, WA. If you are outside the US, call the number on the back of the card before you go to get the access numbers for the places you will be. I have done that before in case I needed to use the phone.
