AVIS car rental in Cabo San Lucas?

Hello Folks.

 

I want to rent a car from AVIS next year while in Cabo San Lucas as a cruise port.

 

Does anybody know where there is an AVIS rental agency IN Cabo San Lucas? Hopefully just a short walk from the tender port in Cabo San Lucas, NOT over in San Jose de Cabo.

 

Did you rent from them? Recently? Any advice? What about alternatives?

 

I checked AVIS.com, but they only listed the agencies in San Jose de Cabo.

There is (or at least was) an AVIS inside the Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach hotel. It's on the Pacific side, near the Solaris. You'll probably just want to grab a taxi over there for ease and time issues. It should be 60 pesos for a taxi. 011-52-624-143-4607 is the phone number I have.

 

The only other AVIS booths I know of are at the Los Cabos International Airport, about 45 minutes to the North, or in San Jose del Cabo.

 

As for alternatives, of course, you can always take a sightseeing tour, or a taxi. The town of Cabo San Lucas is small, right within walking distance of the port. You will only need a car if you plan on driving far outside of town, like to San Jose or Todos Santos. To see Cabo San Lucas, I would not recommend renting a car.

 

There are also all the other car rental agencies in town, too.

Johann & Sandra: thank you for your reply. As you mentioned, the reason for us to rent a car is to try to see both Todos Santos and San Jose de Cabo as well as a few other interesting stops.
