Interior cabins double bed or 2 separate?

Planning on cruising Carnival in February. Is a upper/lower interior cabin two separate beds? Can you get a double bed in the cheapest interior room or will I have to pay extra for an upgrade? Was just wondering since it wasn't explained on their website. Thanks,

If you booked the lowest cat which is a 1A you took a chance of getting an upper bed and a bunk bed. or the cabin could have one twin bed and a sofa bed.

what category did you book?

a 4a cabin which is an inside cabin will always have two beds on the floor that can be pushed together.

if you want 2 beds together book a 4a guarantee and take a chance of being upgraded.

if you dont mind a bunk bed sort of thing then take the 1A guarantee.

our first cruise in 1992 to Bahamas on carnival was upper and lower. Hubby to the top. The cabin was so small that could hardly move around and openning the bathroom door was out and took about the whole room. We laugh and have pictures of that tiny tiny cabin ..
