Tahoestarr Posted December 31, 2006 #1 Share Posted December 31, 2006 Okay...I've been planing my upcoming cruise in February for almost a year. Now DH says he may not be able to go due to work commitments. My sister, who I travel with a lot, would be my possible replacemnt, however, when I called Princess to see if it is possible to do a name change, it took the woman a long time to find the information, which she didn't seem very sure about. She said it could be done up to one week prior to sailing, but that cancellation and name change fees MAY apply...but didn't seem to know what these charges were. I can't seem to find anything about this on the website, or in the cruise answer book. Has anyone had any experience with last minute name (passenger) changes? cactusrose Posted December 31, 2006 #2 Share Posted December 31, 2006 The following is always at the bottom of the confirmation I receive from my TA. "The cruise lines are charging up to $50pp for name changes after final pmt"

gonna go cruising Posted December 31, 2006 #4 Share Posted December 31, 2006 Fifty bucks is a deal if you ask me. Beats cancelling, losing the money and a rebook any day!
from the desert Posted December 31, 2006 #5 Share Posted December 31, 2006 I've had the same scenario, same reason for DH to cancel. If you have a TA let them do the leg work. If not, call Princess and don't ask but tell them you are changing the name of the person traveling with you. If you have already filled out all of the information sheets they may charge you to update everything. If not, the change price may be negotiable. Be nice, be charming, be patient, but be firm. You paid for a double occupancy and that will be how you travel. What are they going to do, kick you off the boat?
