me&thekids Posted January 3, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 3, 2007 I have done the cave tubing in Belize before and even though my kids (9 & 13) haven't I don't want to do it again......thought I was getting hypothermia in the shaded caves...lol. We're doing the zip line in Roatan so were wondering if there are any decent beaches in Belize with a place to relax, maybe snorkel or anything else other than tubing and zip line? bp traveler Posted January 3, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 3, 2007 After reading some of the posts on cave tubing I know it is not for me or my family - what else can one do in Belize? Waiting to see what everyone says about the beaches on the OP above!
momofzeke Posted January 4, 2007 #3 Share Posted January 4, 2007 We did the Private Island Beach Break at Bannister Island in Belize. This was a nice beach day, although we liked Paradise Beach in Cozumel better. Bannister Island has a covered outdoor restauant/bar with decent bar-type food (chicken fingers, burgers, nachos, hot dogs, bar-b-q chicken). There are clean restrooms. The beach is pretty nice, with lounge chairs, float mats, some shaded hut-type seating. The swimming area was calm the day we were there. Didn't see too many snorkelers, but maybe if you go on the other side of the dock. For an extra charge, you can rent kayaks or pedal boats. Wait-persons come around to your lounger and bring you drinks/food. The excursion left directly from the Carnival Miracle, took about a half hour to get to the Island. Stayed on the Island for about 4 hours. We had a fun time. Good luck, and enjoy your cruise! :)
