Margaritaville from Ocho Rios

Hi!

Once you leave the ship, you have a bit of a walk to get to Margaritaville. You'll have the walk from the ship, about two blocks worth, through the "Customs" that they have, across a large parking lot...If you stay to the right, you'll see a beautiful beach...Walk across the beach and you will see Margaritaville. Margaritaville is right off of the beach. I would say, maybe a 15 minute walk. Definitely worth it. The slide is loads of fun. Bring a few bucks...You'll be spending them. LOL.

Where Margaritaville is at, there is also a mini shopping mall type of thing. It has a little bit of everything.

Could anyone tell me how far Margaritaville is from the Ocho Rios Port.

We went to Margaritaville for the first time last month. Its about a 10-15 min. walk. You are going to have a great time ! Don't forget to bring home your "Lost Shaker of salt" :D If you like to get a little crazy there is a guy walking around in a grass skirt with two bottles and he will come over and have you lean your head back and do a shot for only $1 :p Its yummy :D They will also take a picture of you while you are doing it ($10) we talked them down to $7  .

Margaritaville also has a beautiful beach. Have a great time on your cruise !

Cali :)

When you are at the Margaritaville in Ocho Rios, keep your eyes and ears open for the wristbands. If you are headed to Grand Cayman, this wristband will get you a free, small, original Margarita at the Grand Cayman Margaritaville.

The walk is short. I'd say 10 minutes max, if that, once you are off the ship.

Its about ten minutes - you go down the pier, through the gate, walk towards the main road then enter the shopping plaza from a gate there. You then walk through the shopping village (they have some really good prices on sarongs (is that how you spell it??) and dresses for women), and then M-ville isnt far).

The attachment is from M-ville, the pier is just on the other side of those trees.

Uggggg. the Ship stops right at Margaritaville and Island Village. Unless you are seriously handicapped or old, you can get there in minutes.

Take a walk, enjoy the day and venture past Margaritaville/Island Village and enoy Main Street in Ocho Rios. Don't listen to anyone that says it is not safe or fun, you will have a good time.

Go to the casino, visit town, shop, do what you like. If adventurous, hire a driver (JUTA - red license plate) and ask them to show you the countryside. You will have the best time of your life. Take along some small bills ($1) or candy, or ask the driver to fill a cooler of red stripe and drive through the countryside. Stop whenever you feel like stopping and offer a drink to someone unexpectedly. Image the suprise on a HOT HOT day by offering a cold beer !?!?!? You will get stories, songs, entertainment that is PRICELESS compared to any "touristy" type of trip prepared by hotels and ships.

psalms thanks for the reply. We really will have someone with us who can't walk too much of a distance and from what I had read, it sounded as though it could be much more of a walk than she could handle. Glad to hear that it's right at the pier. You mentioned the casino, could you elaborate on that a little more? As to the size, what type slots and if there are table games .Thanks.

For those who can't walk far , is there a shuttle to take you to the entrance of the Island Village where the shops and margaritaville are located?

If you look at the picture above you can see a long dark line just above the floats. When you are in Ocho Rios you will have your ship in that picture. The long dark line is the pier.

Am I reading correctly that there is abeach at Margarittaville? A beach to enjoy (lay on a towel, swim, etc..) or just look at?

Yes, you are reading correctly. They even have lounge chairs for you to lay on. Have fun!

Grams - sorry, have only been there in January (2x).
