Embracedbylife Posted January 7, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 7, 2007 Hi. My husband and I don't plan on getting dressed up for the 2 formal nights on our upcoming Alaska cruise. We'll just eat in Horizon court and wear less formal attire that night. Does anyone know what areas are off limits for us besides the atrium and dining areas? Will we be frowned upon going to the shows and nightclubs with regular clothes on? Last year we just hung out by the pools on those nights, but we'd like to see where else we can go. Floflegs Posted January 7, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 7, 2007 We saw people informally dressed at the shows and in most other areas apart from the dining rooms
Julia’s Journey’s Posted January 7, 2007 #3 Share Posted January 7, 2007 I always change after dinner as I hate going to the casino and walking the decks in my formal clothes so they stink from the smokers, never had a problem going to the shows or casino etc in my non formal. emoki3 Posted January 7, 2007 #5 Share Posted January 7, 2007 On formal nights, you can dress anyway you want all over the ship except the dining rooms. We always change right after eatting cause we feel more comfortable that way. Hope you enjoy you cruise to Alaska. We had a ball when we went! emoki3:D
CruznMooses Posted January 7, 2007 #6 Share Posted January 7, 2007 Both my wife and I applaud you!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so tired people wondering what they can get away with wearing on the formal night and finely someone says "hey we don't want to get dressed up therefore we will go elsewhere". The only place that I know of that you should not go is the formal dinning rooms. Hey if you really want to have fun you could always go to Atrium grab a drink and then laugh at all us idiot that wants to get dressed up. Have fun on your cruise
Embracedbylife Posted January 8, 2007 Author #7 Share Posted January 8, 2007 Thanks for all the replies! I am thrilled that we can enjoy the night along with everyone else at the shows, casino and bars! The buffet food is just as good anyway and it'll be nice and quiet on formal night! :)
camNaud Posted January 8, 2007 #8 Share Posted January 8, 2007 We like to dress up for formal nights, any excuse for me to put on my Kilt is always welcome. However one thing we don't do is frown at those who choose not do the formal thing. I think it is entirely up to each individual what they do on 'their' cruise. Enjoy Alaska and The Shows and The Casino and The Bars ... Cheers.
