Where to snorkel in Belize?

We will be visiting Bonaire next Christmas and understand that it is an excellent, protected snorkeling island. We would greatly appreciate any information regarding the best snorkeling location(s) or snorkeling shore excursion in order to to maximize the one day we will be there.

Where are you looking for info on? Bonaire and Belize are two different places. Bonaire is an island in the Southern Caribbean, to the north of South America. Belize is a country on Central America, previously known as British Hondouras.

 

Hopefully you're going to Belize. Belize is home to the largest coral reef in the Western Hemisphere. You can easily pick up a snorkeling tour to one of the many 'Cays' from the pier.

Snorkeling is pretty darn good at Bonaire, too.:)

 

There's a good dive shop (mixed snorkel and dive trips) right at the pier:

Not sure about snorkeling as we did the zoo in Belize but I'll bet you can find loads of help if you also post this at the Ports of Call - Belize board. Have fun!
