kosmo Posted January 19, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted January 19, 2007 Sandy -- No, we never made it to the Wheelhouse Bar. We usually were in the Explorers Lounge around 7pm each night and then in the casino, sports bar or Skywalkers later in the eve. I always wonder though if I ever encounter any cc'ers and don't know it! :)

rianvi Posted January 20, 2007 #11 Share Posted January 20, 2007 First of all, thankyou for taking the time to do this. You have already answered a few of my questions on other threads and were very helpful. My questions echo those of ccrain {well, done by the way} covering just about everything. I have just one more,,,were the specialty restaurants ever opened at lunch. I read that sometimes they are. Thanks again. Peace, Anna:)

kosmo Posted January 20, 2007 Author #13 Share Posted January 20, 2007 1 - Any listing of Horizon Court theme nights and what are they? Only mention about themes in Horizon Court is Wednesday when it was Bierfest with a selection of hot and cold Bavarian dishes. From sausages to roast pork leg, choice hams and saurkraut. 2 - Line Dance class?, usually sea days, what time? Line dancing at noon on Sunday and 9:45am on Thursday (Vista Lounge) 3 - Ballroom Dance class? What time? Sunday 10am, Walt & Merengue Tuesday 3:15pm, Swing & Salsa Thursday 10:15am, Rhumba & Tango 4 - Ballroom blitz? Which nights and times? Sunday, Monday & Thursday (Finale), 9:30pm 5 - Island Deck Party Night? When? Where? Tuesday, Tropical Island Night Deck Party. Aft decks 12, 14, 15, 16. Music from 9:15pm with Dewitt Coppin - The fun starts at 10:30pm. Featuring: Limbo, Conga, Dollar Dance and much more ... "Shave of all Shaves" $65 OR "Deep Cleanse Shave" $55 Frangipani Scalp Ritual + Blow Dry from only $59 7 - Time gym opens in morning or is it 24/7? 7am - 10pm 8 - Country Western Night? When? What time? I don't see any reference to a country/western night 9 - Number of different comedy acts? (The performers will change, but probably not the theme.) 3 different comedy acts 10 - Movies nights instead of live acts? Which nights? Live acts are every night but there are also movies on Saturday at 8pm & 10:15pm, Tuesday at 7pm and Wednesday at 10pm. They may typically show even more movies as they had football game on in two of the lounges on two different nights on our cruise. 11 - Any names of the cruise staff? Kelvin was the CD and Adam was the Deputy CD. We recognized Adam from the Grand Princess last year and he is a hoot. He and Winnie teach the dance classes so you'll probably run into him there. Kelvin and Adam do the bingo sessions too. 12 - Dock or tender in Cozumel and if tendered, did they tender excursions off first? We did not stop in Cozumel as it was too rough. My understanding is that the ship will dock if there are not too many other ships already there. In that case, it will be tendering. Excursions booked through the ship are usually tendered first. 13 - Did they tender excursions in Grand Caymen off first? 14 - Did you try the steakhouse? How was it? We did not try the steakhouse. Some friends did it last year and they didn't think it was worth the extra cost as you can get steak in the regular dining rooms most nights. 15 - Any other theme party nights? (50's, disco, stuff like that?) On Wednesday at 9:30pm there is a 50's Sock Hop in the Explorer's Lounge. I was there for the beginning of it and it was getting pretty rowdy in there! I later saw the Reflections DVD of the event and it looked like a good time was had by all. Hope this helps! Please feel free to ask anything else and I will do my best to answer. CruisinFinsUp Posted January 22, 2007 #24 Share Posted January 22, 2007 Thank you for doing this!! We just booked for April on the Star, and I was wondering about the menu selections -- Did you notice please if there was a lot of seafood offered either on the buffet or in the dining room? I know it won't be like the piles of crab on the CB, but I'm hoping for some seafood!! Thanks much in advance!!!:D
kosmo Posted January 28, 2007 Author #25 Share Posted January 28, 2007 cruisintoddler -- If I recall correctly, there was some type of seafood dish on the dining room menus most nights and there was always a fish or two in Horizon Court (even salmon omelettes in the morn  ). Tuesday or Wednesday there were split crab legs in the dining rooms. The menus for the dining rooms are posted early in the day in front of the entrances so you could check it out each morning and plan accordingly. Hope this helps and have a great cruise in April!
