gwinel Posted June 13, 2009 #3276 Share Posted June 13, 2009 Would you mind telling me which Cobra models you have? What is the range of the ones you have? What is the cool page function? Sorry to bombard you with questions, but I want to make sure that we get some that will actually work on the Conquest. Yes, please. I know nothing about radios and need help! ricskill Posted June 14, 2009 #3282 Share Posted June 14, 2009 (edited)
Did you have to have a reservation or did you just walk in? We're wanting to spend the day at Sunset Beach during our cruise next month.
This was our second trip there on 5-31-09 Taxi (10 Minute ride) will drop you off and escort you to a locked manned gate from there they take you inside to day pass registration. You get a colored numbered wrist band. You have to give them your sign and sail card they put them in an envelope with your name and number and you get them back at the guard gate where you entered. WE never had a problem with any of this and had a great time. They also have a good gift shop. Taxis are availabe when you leave just grab one with a red lic tag Have a great time its a nice safe place Edited June 14, 2009 by ricskill

aggie1 Posted June 14, 2009 #3285 Share Posted June 14, 2009 texasenewcruiser - We took our famil of 8 on the Conquest for the New Year's Eve cruise this past Dec. It was myself, DH, DD,DNL,GRd-2,grd-7, DS-30, DS-35. We had the best family vacation of all times. NYE they had balloons in a netting strung from the 9th deck over the atrium. We were on the 9th deck and were babysitting the grds that night. At midnight they dropped all the balloons. The grds loved it. We rode one of the glass elevators up and down with them and they saw all of it. There was lots of kids on board, but everyone was very well behaved. Our grds went to Camp Carnival one time, but liked being with us better. The food was wonderful for adults and the kids. If you have anymore questions please ask. I have a question to ask for anyone. My son is getting married in Nov. and I want some imformation on getting married on the Conquest. Is there a websit to go to. I have tried Carnival.com but can't find anything. Thanks for anyone who can help me.

texhannah Posted June 17, 2009 #3294 Share Posted June 17, 2009
Hello fellow Conquest Lovers!!! We booked cabin 2220 - twin/king, 1 upper & sofa. Cabin has 2 port holes but was priced as an inside. Can anyone tell me anything good or bad about 2220 or 2221?? I didn't find anything when I tried the search feature. Thanks! MicksMom
Hi MicksMom, I had cabin 2216 right next door to 2220 last August on the Conquest and loved it. My room had a twin bed, sofa (convertible) and the all-important 2 portholes. I chose this because I was cruising solo and couldn't afford an OV at the time, so this inside category room with a view of the ocean was a wonderful find. I never had any problem with noise or traffic because really, there's only a handful of rooms past this point and yet you're close to stairs and debarkation in ports. Rocking was a little more noticeable on a few days (compared to the middle or back of ship), but never enough to really be a problem. (Plus we were sailing around Hurricane Gustav and ahead of Ike!) I also took Bonine every single day whether I thought I needed it or not. I hope this helps and that you have a great trip!
MicksMom Posted June 17, 2009 #3295 Share Posted June 17, 2009 Thanks so much Susan, We have always been mid-ship but had family near this cabin in January & they loved it. Like you said, very little foot traffic that far forward. Our last night at sea was a little rough as we were heading into a cold front but we loved how nice the weather was all week so we booked the same week again. Thanks again! arsavoy Posted June 21, 2009 #3296 Share Posted June 21, 2009 We are taking out first cruise Feb 2010 on Carnival Conquest. We are wanting an interior cabin since I tend to get motion sick at times. We are not sure which deck to pick. I'm looking for input on your stay, the deck you stayed on and cabin number? Thanks for your time........ bojomitch Posted June 21, 2009 #3300 Share Posted June 21, 2009 Is Carnival still putting the chocolates on the pillows each night? We were on RCL in May and they were not doing so - for cost cutting reasons.:):)
