KK41 Posted January 19, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 19, 2007 I know this probably is not the right place to post this but let's try anyways. PLEASE DON'T SHOOT ME!!!!! Her daughter appreciates ANY AND ALL recommendations otherwise I AM TOAST!!!! Help me please!
jleq Posted January 19, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 19, 2007 While a newer ship out of the Galveston area--such as the Conquest--would probably be better for mom than many others, CC has a forum for "disabled cruisers" at: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=190 I'm sure much of their info would be more complete than ours

jleq Posted January 19, 2007 #4 Share Posted January 19, 2007 Below, a link to part of the Carnival website. It might have some answers to questions you have concerning Mom: http://www.carnival.com/CMS/Static_Templates/EMB_guest_special_requirements.aspx
KK41 Posted January 19, 2007 Author #5 Share Posted January 19, 2007 Below, a link to part of the Carnival website. It might have some answers to questions you have concerning Mom:http://www.carnival.com/CMS/Static_Templates/EMB_guest_special_requirements.aspx so I have determined by the responses that Conquest might not be the ship for us. I guess I will find another solution!
serene56 Posted January 19, 2007 #6 Share Posted January 19, 2007 I have traveled with people in wheelchairs. Last year did the Liberty- same class as the Conquest. You will definitly need a handicapped cabin and since these go quicky you need to ook way ahead of time. We booked an oceanview cabin. The room holds 2 people. Beds are head to head instead of next to each other. It has a port for recharging batteries for a scooter. It had a plate to puch to hold the door opened so the chair can fit in. what exactly are you needing?

jleq Posted January 19, 2007 #8 Share Posted January 19, 2007 I will find another solution! I truly hope you do. I've travelled w/people in wheelchairs. Most recently on the Conquest in late October. But, the Dialysis treatments you mother needs could be problematic at sea...
