When to call TA about price drop?

My TA said if the price drops & the cruise line permits, I could get an adjustment to my invoice prior to the final payment due date.

However, I'm not clear which price to monitor (full vs. discounted). Let's say Princess website's rate was $1000 when I booked and the TA gave me a discounted rate of $850. Should I call her when Princess website's rate goes below $1000 or do I wait until it actually drops below her discounted rate of $850?

Thanks.

Great question. I'm going to get in touch with my TA and ask the very same question.

My TA discounts the Princess fare. If the price from Princess drops, so will her price, though the drop in my fare may not be quite as much as the drop in the full fare. I have contacted my TA several times when I have seen the price drop on Princess' web site and gotten a lower price on my discounted fare.

Hi,

I just got a fantastic price on my trans-atlantic for April as Princess dropped the price significantly and the travel agent arranged for all the benefits when notified. Princess usually will not notify them of the discount, it has to be found. With a listed price, you may be in a higher catagory so you fare may be a bit higher. It all varies, but I suggest you contact your TA immediately. When Princess offer the upgrades for $99.00, they go very fast.

It never hurts to call anytime you think there has been a drop in prices, weather it be Princess or your travel agency. I have had as many as 3 price reductions on a single cruise. It is just about impossible to get a credit after final payment so do it ASAP.
