Hello,

We are considering doing a Helmet Dive in St Thomas. Can anyone tellme what this experience is like? How strenuos is it?

I wear glasses and am unable to see without them and I don't snorkel very well, so I thought this might be something I'd enjoy.

Thanks,

Mike

Mike, my daughter wears glasses too and we did a helmet dive in Bermuda, it was great. She was able to see everything as well as the rest of us. We have booked the same Helmet Dive operator for next month in Bermuda again.

A helmet dive is a whte plastic (looks like a space ship item) helmet that rests on your sholders with an air line attached- that is at the surface I believe, for completely snorkel free -almost scuba diving wihtout the cert's, where you can go to a depth of 20ft and walk effortlessly at the bottom... Hope that helps!
