lindalo5032 Posted January 29, 2007 #1 Share Posted January 29, 2007 I have some questions about this excursion-- Do they provide life jackets or flotation boards for the barrier reef snorkeling? Would this be OK for a 5 year old child? What about stingray city? Would the 5 year old be able to do this or would the water be above her head? Thanks! savannah2117 Posted January 29, 2007 #2 Share Posted January 29, 2007 We did this last week with Nativeways. Amazing time. Wonderful. You'll love it. There are life jackets for the snorkeling. If it was too hard to snorkel, you could just stay near the boat, a couple of older people chose not to snorkel. The stingrays were amazing. The water was about waist deep. I don't remember a current at all. Depending on her personality, she might be a bit scared. She could probably stay on the boat and you could get down and see the stingrays and she could watch from the boat. I bet they would bring a small stingray to her to touch if she was freaked out and didn't want to get in the water. The Rum Point was awesome. Very child-friendly there. 5 is probably pretty young but I think it would be easy to accomodate you doing the activity and her in a more "spectator" role all at the same time, together. They were great and will make sure everyone in your group has fun.
