Liat Posted February 9, 2007 #27 Share Posted February 9, 2007 The Celebrity web site has the deck plans for Journey. These plans show 32 Sky Suites on Deck 8. Oceania has 44 Pentouse Suites on Deck 8 for its ships. The two suites are of identical size and conformation. This does mean that Celebrity did some retrofitting. When we saw Journey in its past life as Pulmantur's Blue Dream in Corfu (while we were on Nautica), it was clear that all the veradas on Deck 8 were the same size as those on Decks 6 and 7. In fact, this is still true of Royal Princess according to its website.

In fact, this is still true of Royal Princess according to its website. In fact, Renaissance Cruises changed a few elements of the deck plans during production of the R1 class, so there are some differences between the last three ships and the first five ships. In particular, they replaced the smaller suites, which Princess sells as minisuite aboard MV Pacific Princess (nee MV R3) and MV Tahitian Princess (nee MV R4), with standard cabins. Celebrity wants small suites, and thus will replace forty-eight standard cabins on the aft half of Deck Eight with thirty-two sky suites as part of the reconfiguration of MV Blue Dream (nee MV R6[/i]) into MV Celebrity Journey and MV Blue Moon (nee MV R7) into MV Celebrity Quest. AFAIK, Princess Cruises has not yet anounced plans for a similar modification of MV Minerva II (nee MV R8), which will become the new MV Royal Princess in the spring of 2007. Norm.
