jbkinny Posted February 8, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 8, 2007  My cousin called today about her Superbowl Cruise. About 2 weeks ago they offered a great florida resident rate for the Carinval Insperation last minute.$ 525.00 fo both. She said the price for 1 coors lite was $5.35. She check the price for last years Carinval trip and same beer was $3.15. I told her would ask you all if Carinval can rise prices just because they offerd a low cost cruise and also knowing there would be alot of beer drinkers on board because of Superbowl????? GoinCruisin Posted February 8, 2007 #2 Share Posted February 8, 2007 Beer prices in general have gone up over the last year or so.... I don't think they raised it, but I also don't think it was $3.15 last year. I'll have to look at my drink prices, but I think the cheapest I remember it being was $3.50 plus 15%. mrdood Posted February 8, 2007 #3 Share Posted February 8, 2007 Not sure what cruise they were on a year ago, here is a link to the beverage menu I got on the Liberty in Dec 2005, beer is $4.50 for a 16oz, there is a domestic 12oz for $3.50, I know the 16oz price was just over $5 in September. I don't think they were comparing apples to apples, and there is no way they would "re-print" all their beverage menus just for one week... OhioJeff Posted February 8, 2007 #4 Share Posted February 8, 2007 I doubt they would charge more for one sailing...I do know they actually offered beer discounts on Liberty while the game was on: http://www.cruisecritic.com/news/news.cfm?ID=1928 Carnival In addition to showing the game in various lounges and bars, including the huge 270-square-ft. LED screen on Carnival Liberty, Carnival will be offering beer specials -- with buckets of beers available at an especially discounted rate -- along with food stations at all viewing venues with chicken fingers, southwestern-style egg rolls, coconut shrimp, steak sandwiches and other fare.
