Has anyone stayed at the Howard Johnson?

I have a reservation held at both the Howard Johnson in Old San Juan and the Coral Princess Inn for our 2 day precruise 3/24. I have been bidding every day on prieline for resort hotel, but that isn't looking too good, so I need to figure which hotel would be best.

 

The Coral Princess Inn has had some good reviews on the threads, but thought it might be nice to stay in Old San Juan.

 

Any thoughts?:confused:

I am also looking for a hotel before my 3/24 cruise, and I have looked at hotel reviews on http://www.tripadvisor.com. It is a useful website, especially if you don't get any responses to this thread. We stayed at HoJos in Old Town SJ the night before our cruise. The only thing going for this hotel is location. It's right in the middle of Old Town and within walking distance to everything in Old Town. We thought we had booked 3 king suites. When we got there, we were all given interior queen rooms. Parts of the hotel lost power the night we were there and one couple in our party had cold showers. The majority of rooms in the hotel are interior (no windows). The king suites are in the front of the hotel and have windows. However, there is a lot of street noise, so I am not sure I would have liked a king suite any better. If we cruise via San Juan again, I will either stay at the Sheraton, which is a stone's throw from the Pier 4 East or at the Hotel Milano, which has a lot of recommendations by other Cruise Critic members.

Old san juan have no beach but is a great place to stay...always are activities and many restaurants
