Difference between 8A or BL guarantee Miracle

Can anyone tell me the difference between booking an 8A or a BL guarantee on the Carnival Miracle? Aside from the price, they are both guarantees so does one give you a better chance of an upgrade than the other?

An 8A will be on the Upper Deck. The BL can be anywhere Upper Deck and above. I just booked an 8A yesterday for the Glory. Normally I would book a BL but Carnival has a special that if you book prior to Feb 15, you get a 2 cabin upgrade so I got an 8C, which will put me on the Verandah deck, although the rooms are exactly the same. Not sure which will have a better chance for an upgrade. With the BL, the worst you can end up with would be an 8A.

Thanks for the information. I have read on many posts that people that have booked an 8A have already received the upgrade and were able to have a cabin assigned to them. I'm going to call my TA tomorrow and see what's up. Thanks again.
