highcard Posted February 12, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 12, 2007 Has anyone traveled with a baby and had to lug around a carseat to all the ports? My nephew is only 18 months and still needs a carseat. Any tips on carseats would be wonderful. Do excursions usually offer carseats? or if traveling in taxis do you have to take your own carseat to the beaches? Any help and advise would be greatly appreaciated!! Thanks, Erin
serene56 Posted February 12, 2007 #2 Share Posted February 12, 2007 18 months when flying can go for free as long as the sit on someones lap. Taking a car seat you will then be paying full fare for that seat to be used in the plane. You didnt state the port that you are going-- but would think that taking your own is a good idea. Most of these ports are not governed by US laws stating kids must be in car seats. there is a family board located on the main board that might be of bigger help on what to expect and not expect for cruising with the under "2" people. highcard Posted February 12, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted February 12, 2007 Thanks for the reply. We will be driving to Ft. Lauderdale. Just concerned about luging the carseat from the boat to taxis and hanging on to it during beach and boating excursions (grandcayman and Paradise Beach in Cozumel). I am posting the question in the family thread also. Thanks again! Erin
