lovetocruise25 Posted February 15, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 15, 2007 I love Sailing out of Tampa cant wait to see the Legend when she gets there. I was thinking that Carnival should add a new Ship to that port its a beautiful port very easy to get around and Tampa is just a great place to visit pre cruise. What do you People think

What do you People think I think there are issues with the bridge and larger/newer ships in Tampa. Conquest class and the ships due out wont fit under the bridge, from what I understand. What do you People think At the moment there are two ships sailing out of Tampa. The Inspiration and the Miricle. When the Legand switches with Miracle you will be sailing on an older ship. But only by a year. The problem for the port of Tampa getting newer larger ships are twofold. One problem is the clearance under the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. the other problem is the channel used through the Bay is not very wide. They have made a proposal to put a passing lane in the channel so two larger ships could enter and leave the port at the same time. The main problem still though...is the bridge. Just not tall enough to support newer larger ships.
