Question..Transportation from Port Everglades to the airport?

Does anybody know approximately what the cost is to take a taxi from Port Everglades to the Ft. Lauderdale airport? Is there a rental car agency that provides a shuttle service from port to the airport? We will be arriving back in port on Monday Feb. 26th and would like to rent a car for a few hours to see some sights in Ft. Lauderdale before our plane takes off. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Fort Lauderdale airport is our favorite before a cruise. It is only a few minutes to the dock and a cab only costs about $15 plus tip. They have people directing people through the lines so it is first come first serve at the cab stands. We usually take our time getting luggage and by then the lines are gone.

 

Not sure about renting a car for the day. Best bet might be to go back to the airport and do it there if you get off the ship early enough. Maybe someone else will have info about some private tours or if you can do it cheaper with a cab driver?
