AdamOfCanaveral Posted February 27, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 27, 2007 Bob and I are booked on the Grandeur out of Baltimore to New England and Canada, sailing September 7, 2007. It's a 9 night cruise with some interesting ports of call. Is anyone from this board going to be joinng us? We've met some great people on previous Grandeur cruises. AdamOfCanaveral Posted April 15, 2007 Author #2 Share Posted April 15, 2007 On Valentine's Day Bob slipped on the ice and hit his head when he fell. It took almost a month before his symptons vecame bad and he went to a doctor. It turned out that blood had been building up between his frain and his skull ever since the accident. He had to have two operations to open his skull and let the blood drain. He's been home for a couple of weeks now. I took him for his first post-surgery follow-up appointment with his neurosurgeon, Dr. Jacobson, Friday afternoon. After a VERY brief examination (no weight check, no blood pressure check, no stethoscope check, no eyes or ears exam), Dr. Jacobson said, “Okay, I’ll see you in 4 weeks.” In answer to the question, “Do you have any idea when I can go back to work?” he replied, “Not for at least 4 to 6 weeks.” In answer to the question, “Can Bob start driving again?” he answered, “Not yet.” I guess that means not for at least 4 weeks since we won’t see him again until then. I guess he’s a good neurosurgeon, but he sure doesn’t have much of a bedside manner. Bob finally got in touch with his original social worker and we hope that physical therapy will resume, and speech therapy will begin, this week. Otherwise Bob is doing well. He has started doing a few light chores around the condo (dishes, dusting, rearranging kitchen shelves) to help pass the time. I’m anxious for therapy to start so that he has some exercises to do that will help get him back to normal. We'll sure be ready for a cruise! AdamOfCanaveral Posted May 17, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted May 17, 2007 I just checked the Royal Caribbean website to see how our cruise looked. All of the full suites are sold out except for one Royal Family suite. There are still some Junior Suites left, but the price is now $1200 more per person than what we paid. Our sail date is starting to get close. I hope we'll see some activity on this thread.:)

AdamOfCanaveral Posted June 26, 2007 Author #5 Share Posted June 26, 2007 Just wanted to let everyone know that Bob (BobsterR) sent the following email to firends and relatives yesterday: Hello to all. I just wanted to let you know that I have just returned from the surgeon's office and he has released me from his care. I will start weening off the seizure medication Keppra, cutting the dosage in half this week and half again next week. Then I will be done with that. I am back at work with a full schedule, although there is little sales activity at this time. Hopefully it will pick up soon and get things back to normal. Thanks again to all for your kindnesses and caring during this time. Take care and stay in touch. Bob We hope that we will be sharing this cruise with some family.
