canadiangirl77 Posted February 28, 2007 #1 Share Posted February 28, 2007 Hi all, we booked a GTY balcony on the Sun to Alaska in May ... There was no mention of where this cabin might even be located? I see some others said .. we booked a GTY "N" and got an "N" Yes I'm new to cruising so sorry if this is a dumb question. What kind of luck have you had with booking a GTY balcony?? Thanks and Happy Cruising!!
CRUZIN TOM Posted February 28, 2007 #2 Share Posted February 28, 2007 We had a GTY in the past and ended up on the 10th deck Forward. Now we ask for anything Forward. They say that the ship moves less midships, but we really prefer FWD of the forward elevators. You will love it anywhere. Balconys are great cabins.:)
canadiangirl77 Posted March 4, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted March 4, 2007 if you book a GTY balcony on the Sun .. are there many with obstructed views? I mean it wouldnt make much sense to have a balcony when you can sit out there and see things?!?
Pickipickipicki Posted March 4, 2007 #4 Share Posted March 4, 2007 Balconies don't have obstructed views. Oceanview can but balconies don't. While in Glacier Bay stand up in the back of the ship (Way above the deck everyone else is standing on) next to the vents (warm air will keep you looking at the glaciers a lot longer) Take your dollar store stretch gloves and don't forget your socks and binoculars (the sounds and views are undescribable)
