use taxi or cruise transfer to/from LaGuardia?

I'm just trying to determine what would be better and/or cheaper---

 

Carnival's round-trip transfer from LaGuardia to the NY Cruise Terminal is $80/pp! One way transfer is $40/pp...

 

Does anyone know approximate taxi cost to/from LaGuardia?

 

I know it probably depends on the day and time...I'd be traveling from LaGuardia to the pier on a Saturday around noon, and from the pier to the airport would be on a Sunday around noon.

 

Any New Yorkers or frequent NY cruise travelers able to help me out?! Thanks!

It cost about $30.00 for a cab to the Manhattan Cruise terminal from LGA- that is for the cab not per person. It should be about the same going back...maybe a couple of bucks more. (over the 59th street bridge)...no toll this way. On Saturday or Sunday without a parade it shouldn't be too bad...

One thing to keep in mind at the NYC port there will be a huge wait for taxis once you get back and if you have a tight flight time it could be risky. There are actually a ton of car services for about $40 each way and you do not have to wait for the taxis if you have booked in advance.
