century penthouse veranda???

i was looking into booking an owner's suite on the norwegian sun and saw some pictures of the balcony, and it looked like it was out in the wide open and not very private. i then stembled across the penthouse on the century and it looks like the veranda is covered and the way it looks like it is recessed would make me think it is very private. this cruise will be for my honeymoon in january, and i want it to be very special. any info would be greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance!!

Can't speak from direct experience here, but I was really tempted to book a great deal in the NCL Sun Owners Suite for Alaska, mostly because of the hot tub on the deck. However, once I did some research, I ended up booking a RS on Mercury for a little bit less. The Sun OS is right under a night club which supposedly can be noisy (something that would not have made me happy), and I'm also prone to seasickness, so I wanted something closer to midship. Those were my personal reasons for changing though.

I have had the pleasure of staying in the Penthouse Suite on the Century three times. The balcony is private due to the fact that the living room windows on one side and the bedroom windows on the other side are pushed out. There is a small whirlpool on the balcony. This suite is my favorite because you feel as if you are in your own private yacht. The bath is elegant plus you have 1/2 bath near the entrance to the suite. There is also a pantry with a side by side refrig.Perfect for the butler to leave little treats in.You will love this suite and won't want to leave it. Have a wonderful cruise!!!

Nedra and I had a royal suite on Mercury for an 8 day cruise in March, and a royal suite on Century in May of this year.

The veranda for the royal suites on the C class ships is totally, and I mean totally private. Particulary on Century, we found that the veranda after dinner and a stint in the casino was just great - having a Bailey's over, listening to the noise of the water, seeing planes off in the distance, and the same with ships, it was very very romantic!

We have 1028 booked on Century for a 2/19/2005 cruise! One word of caution, do not book 1054 on Mercury, because it is right under the hot dog hamburger stand above, and is very noisy at night. Had 1029 on Century and it very very convenient to the forward elevators.
