Phillipsburg to Marigot and then to Maho???

We are looking to do some shopping and then hit the setset beach bar to watch planes. Do you think that we could shop in Phillipsburg, zip over to Marigot and then get back to Maho to watch the planes. This might be a bit much by the commentary on the boards, but wasn't sure. Is it that big of a deal to go to Marigot? It seems like Phillipsburg has plenty of shopping, but I didn't want to miss something in Marigot if it was worth our while. Our ship gets in at 0700 and leaves at 1700.
