Fantasy Only Questions ...

I would certainly recommend one of several Mayan ruin sites that you can take from Progreso. Chichen Itza has recently cited as one of the Seven Wonders of the World.

In Cozumel, I would consider spending time at one of the beaches. Snorkeling and diving in Cozumel are very popular activities.

Hope you enjoy your cruise on the Fantasy!

This will be the 3rd or 4th time going to Cozumel- and we use to go to the beach by the state park that charged like $7 to get it

nawlinscruiser 22 - re your back-to-back questions. Check with the Purser's desk the day before the first cruise ends. They'll have a record of your back-to-back. They should instruct you to meet in the lobby on Empress Deck around 10:00 a.m., then when everyone else is off the ship a rep from the Purser's Office will escort you off the ship and through customs. She will then obtain your new sail & sign card for the second cruise and escort you back on the ship. Takes 30 min. or less. If you are staying in the same stateroom you have to do nothing else. You can let your stateroom steward or stewardess know that you're not leaving, but they may know already. You'll just lock your door and keep your cabin key with you. If you have to change cabins that's another matter. You'll probably have to pack everything up and I think the cabin steward moves it for you but you'd have to check. It's definitely alot easier with the same cabin. The best part is the last night of the first cruise when everyone else has to be packed with their bags out, etc. and you can lounge around the ship at will. (But payback comes at the end of the 2nd cruise!)

We'll be on another back-to-back in May and probably another one for New Year's.

going on a four day to cozumel in oct. very excited. This cruise will be after the Fantasy goes into dry dock so I am excited to see the improvements on it.

Question:

What is a good excursion in Cozumel? i have been there twice on a cruise with my best friend but this time it is me and my mom. When my friend and I went we rented a jeep and drove around and went to the beach and swam and snorkled all day. My mom though is not really into snorkeling and such. Does anyone know of a good excursion?

I'd reccommend getting two cabins if you're traveling with teenage girls (or any 3/4 adults/almost adults). It's usually not that much more expensive since you're paying 3/4 passenger anyway. When we travel as a family we get a cabin for the girls (mom & teen daughter) and a cabin for the boys (dad & son). Look into an inside cabin across the hall (Even cheaper). You'll have two bathrooms, more space, and less stress when it's "getting ready" time. Also, if it's "Girl's Only," imagine-where will you put all that luggage? HAHA!

I cruised on Celebrity 2 years ago - girls cruise - 4 of us in our 20's... We got one cabin, with bunk beds, and we were fine. Yes, it got cramped at times - but, hey, we're friends! If money is an issue, and you can handle being a little cramped, you'll be fine. Besides - for the amount of time you spend in the room, it's really not that big of a deal. We just staggered our "getting ready" times - two of us would go back to the room earlier and start showering for dinner and stuff, then the other two would come back later. Besides, for us, it was WAY cheaper to put 4 in a cabin - the prices went down for the 3rd and 4th people, so we just averaged the total cost.

If you've got the money for 2 cabins, go for it. But we managed with 4 twenty-something's in an outside stateroom for a seven day cruise with no problems, so I'm guessing you guys would be fine!

We are taking our first cruise w/ our sons 15 and 17. What is this Club 02 all about? Any suggestions of excursions? Are there areas the teens tend to congregate so they don't spend the first days looking for other teens? How dressy is Formal night? Can they wear khakis and a Polo shirt? We are trying to pack light so we don't have to check our bags during on plane.

We're taking our first Carnival cruise in August. We've been on other lines, but were never quite sure about Carnival. From what we hear, things are much better than they were reputed to be, and they suffer from a "long ago reputation". It looks like a lot of people love this ship, so I'm encouraged!

Our two 12 year olds will be with us. Will they have enough to do? They are sort of at that uncomfortable age of being too old for "kid stuff", but not quite old enough for "teen stuff". Any suggestions? Thanks a lot!

Taking the fantasy out 3/22..so excited and getting last minute things done. 2 quick questions I have are, Is the door metal? I would like to make a magnetic sign so it's easier for the kids to find the room (we did that on the Disney cruise and it worked great).

Also, has anyone been to the beaches in Progreso? If so, are they far from the ship and are they really nice?

I think that's it for now unless anyone has ever taken an Easter cruise and know if they do anything special on board for the kids? I guess that's 3 quick questions, lol  thx.

Just returned from the March 8th departure on the Fantasy, I have to say that my Fantasy expectations were much greater and this was out of the 42 cruises that I have been on, the absolute worst.

The food was hit and miss. Service was so-so except in the dining room. The volume of the music on the pool deck was way too loud. The cabins could have been cleaner.

They switched scheduled port dates so it messed us up on our pre-booked excursion. This was a minor thing.

On the positive side, embarking and disembarking was record time since 911. The kids had fun with most of the Camp Carnival activities. And the seas were calm.

The Fantasy was a disappointment and I would not recommend it. Maybe after they refurbish it things might get better or at least I hope so. It’s really true...you get what you pay for.

BTW, This was the second time we sailed on the Fantasy and the last. We were not that impressed the first time but not this disappointed either.

I hope that all of you with cruise dates coming up have better things to say than we do.

Jackdis sorry you did not have a good time. and sorry you did not enjoy NO. New Orleans is my favorite place to go. i have been to other ports but have found IMO that NO was the easiest. i am leaving on the fantasy in april. hope to have a better time than you.

Mark, I hate to hear that it was the absolute worst cruise. We are taking it this Saturday and we were on a Disney Cruise 2 years ago so I was worried also but I'm trying to go into this very optimistic and try not to compare the two. We are in a Cat 12. room so hopefully since it's one of the nicest on the ship that will help. I've already resigned myself to the "Vegas" theme and things being older so hopefully that will continue (my mindset). It sounds like they have tons for the kids to do (I have a 11yo son, 7yo daughter) and quite honestly, I'm praying for great weather so I can sit on the deck with a book and a diet coke and relax (I know, old and boring, lol). Oh, could you tell me how the weather was and the seas on your cruise? Good Luck on your next vaca and I'll post my review when I get back ;)
