Anyone stayed in the Holiday Inn at Southampton port?

We are booked in the night before our cruise. We have booked an upgraded room because they said the higher the room, the better the view of the port ie. our ship in the morning!

I am going to call them tomorrow to make sure our room has this view!!!:)

Anyone have any experience of this which they could share?

Many thanks in advance...

We stayed there a few years ago when Aurora entered service. The hotel is sideways to the Solent with the north side looking up towards the P&O berth and the south side looking down the Solent.

It's great to wake up ealry and see the ships arrive in the morning.

Hope that helps.

Hi Wakelover.

We stopped at the Holiday Inn year before last, went with 2 friends on their first cruise their hotel room looked up the solent ours was right accross from their room looking at certain berths. I woke early in the morning about 4.30 to the purrrriinggggggggg of the ship coming in. I woke my husband but was hesitant as to what I should do about my friends.

Anyway I cudnt hold back I nipped accross the landing and knocked gently on their door and Ann my freind heard so we all had coffee in our room at 4.30 watching her dock (legend of the seas) it was a memory I will never forget.

The hotel is great for seeing the ships you have made the right decision there.
