BEST ADVICE EVER....getting the real scoop on your ship etc

IMHO these boards are good, they have a lot of info and advice...but also a LOT of misinformation

 

I have found the BEST advice is from people who recently returned from the ship YOU are booked on, who did the route YOU are booked on

 

One reason I prefer the Carnival board to the General boards is that the info here is Carnival specific...

but I will take it a step further...different ships do different things, ports vary from one to another....food/venues/entertainment is ship specific

 

I have gotten MORE info that I can really use from 2 threads here from "just off the glory" cruisers...

 

Likewise on the port of call boards....look for the LATEST reviews, the people who have just returned,

 

Prices change...tour operators change their policy/times/ and the quality of certain tours/beach bars or whatever can vary and change

 

CD's change....band/shows on the ships change...advice from someone who was on a particular ship 2 years ago might be totally wrong...

 

Look for the "just returned">..or post a "recent xyz ship cruisers" thread...

get involved on the roll call for YOUR ship...

look for "just got back" posts on the port boards

 

The latest news/info is the very best...the more specific the info the better!

 

A good example of this is the "show times" on Glory...there are many well meaning past cruisers who will say the times that the other ships use, but for some ? reason Glory has different times for shows...

getting the exact times from a recent cruiser was very helpful

 

Also check for the most recent scanned capers from YOUR cruise ship
