Denycejac26 Posted March 29, 2007 #101 Share Posted March 29, 2007 I would love to see the video!! denycejac@yahoo.com is my email or if you can link it here that would be fine too. Thank you telling me what that was next to the cabin...it looked like stairs but not the normal stairs so I was not sure. With the bunk beds does it feel like more space? I would think so but maybe not with how the room is configured. Thank you so much!!!! Denyce
Nauticlue Posted March 29, 2007 #102 Share Posted March 29, 2007 On Spirit class ships we sail exclusively in aft (corner) deck 4 balconies. Only RARELY, perhaps thanks to the overhang on that deck, have we ever noticed any soot. We have noticed it a couple of times when in aft cabins on the Glory (little/no overhang above). Simple emissions from the burning of fuel, and I would think that little could be done about it (without impacting your cruise fare). It has only been a slight annoyance for us - the cigarettes in the casino are another matter entirely, but at least with that I am aware of the exposure and risks - and it's voluntary! Tom Would you mind telling me what your cabin # was ........we have booked an aft corner, and by looking at the photo, the balcony looks very large. Thanks, appreciate it........ mzloolue Posted March 29, 2007 #103 Share Posted March 29, 2007 Has anyone heard anything good or bad about Ecstacy R207? It looks like a pretty good location for the least expensive OV!:p Thanks! I don't know about R207, but I do have some experience with R216. First let me say that thanks to Cruise Critic our vacation last year was saved. We we starting to pack for a cruise on Celebration. I looked on Cruise Critic and saw that Celebration had had an accident. I really didn't think it would effect our cruise, but I put in a call to our PVP and left a message. Just in case I started looking at what cruises within driving distance were leaving that same day. Ecstacy was the only one that matched up. Then my one of our party called and said that he had just received a phone call saying that our cruise had been cancelled. I was about ready to cry. Right then our PVP called back. Thank goodness we were able to snag the last four cabins on Ecstacy! If not for Cruise Critic we would have been cruise-less. I saw a thread on here about the cabin I was assigned that said it was quiet. And it was, except really early in the morning before coming into port. The noise would wake us up and we would go up on deck to watch the ship come into port...it was fun. However, we were really tired and wanted to sleep in that last morning before our long drive home but the loud noises made that impossible...and believe me I tried. Better than nothing, but way not quiet! And this is not quite on the noise topic, but also somehow at debarkation, although we were up in the middle of the line waiting to go through customs, when the main line breaks into smaller lines we were in the WRONG one. There was some problem with someone ahead of us and we were the very LAST people to make it out! It was almost lunch time! Fortunately we had an extra day to get home! We needed it! pryd Posted March 29, 2007 #104 Share Posted March 29, 2007 Actually the whole block of cabins in that area, located one deck below is the showroom. So you get to enjoy the show's from your cabin...Every show....And rehersal, Party, band practice, you get the idea. It was like you were right in the middle of the showroom. Sleep is a luxury that I could not get too much of. Guest services response....No kidding....Sent me a set of earplugs and 2 drink coupons. WOW! As you can guess the letter I sent to Carnival was imaginitive and to the point.
gumballz Posted March 29, 2007 #105 Share Posted March 29, 2007 Denyce, I sent you the link to the video and a few photos. I just ask that you don't repost them online, as my DD is in a couple of them. Thanks! The crew stairs are right next to the cabin but we NEVER heard anyone using them. Other than the noises and vibrations I mentioned, there was nothing. The ice machine is down the hall towards the elevators. I never heard the ice machine either. The room was definitely roomy. Even if the beds were in the 'king' configuration, there'd be more room than a regular cabin. You'll see in the photos, however, that there is a lot of floor space. It was just us two girls in there and we were both able to get ready without bumping into each other. One tip, bring a multiple outlet extension cord. You'll need it if you blow dry, curl or straighten your hair. The blow dryer in the bathroom wouldn't have dried our hair very well (we have thick hair). NeptunesGoddess Posted March 29, 2007 #106 Share Posted March 29, 2007 Since this thread is now a few pages long, I thought I would go through and condense all the cabins mentioned here into a quick reference list. Please note: The following cabins have been reported here to have "problems". The problems have been reported by their posters from personal experience. However, this does not mean that you will experience the same problems or be of the same opinion in your experience. The list can be used as a guide, but don't panic if you are booked in one of the following. Denycejac26 Posted March 30, 2007 #110 Share Posted March 30, 2007 gumballz... I got the email. Thank you again so very much. Those photos clinched it for me. Whether my sister goes or not I will go. I found the price for that cabin as a single is also still cheaper then an inside cabin! I am hoping she decides soon so I don't lose the cabin! lol Again, this is why cc is the BEST website for reserach!!!! Thanks everyone! Happy cruising! :) :) Denyce
Denycejac26 Posted March 30, 2007 #111 Share Posted March 30, 2007 :) Well I did it! I booked the 2445! :) I was afraid the fare would go up or we would lose it. So right now it is sister and i. However she might not go. If not I have resigned to go it alone. I did it 2 years ago and found it wonderful! Especially thanks to the CC members I met on board!!! Thanks again to everyone!! See ya'll on the boards! I am in planning mode now! :p Denyce

lindalo5032 Posted March 30, 2007 #115 Share Posted March 30, 2007 Are these too close to the elevator? I'm looking at the deck plan, but can't tell if they are far enough away from the elevator. We have 2 cabins next to each other.

I'm looking at the deck plan, but can't tell if they are far enough away from the elevator. We have 2 cabins next to each other. You won't hear any noise coming from the elevators, it's actually a great location. Also i have been next to the stairwell many times, it is used for muster and crew members only so no noise from that either.

Froufie Posted April 3, 2007 #120 Share Posted April 3, 2007 I have a quick little video that shows the room just for a second, if you'd like to see it. It's not great but you can get somewhat of an idea of the size of the cabin and windows...and you can see the bed setup.__________________gumballz - would also LOVE to see the video/pics - can you please email to me at froufster@hotmail.com thanks a bunch! Uncle Doug Posted April 3, 2007 #125 Share Posted April 3, 2007 On the Carnival Conquest you will want to avoid room 6224 or any around this one. It is right over the main lounge. You can hear all the shows and never leave your room, and all the rehersals, and bingo, and travel talks. You get the idea. Its very noisy. I don't recall the floor but check out the floor plan of the ship and avoid any over the main lounge
