hch3rd Posted August 6, 2004 #26 Share Posted August 6, 2004 I will be leaving on the Wind next Wednesday (8/11). Four of us want to tube the ditch. Online we can get tickets for $79.90 and $99.00 through NCL. We can save a little money renting the car - is it worth it or should we just do it throught NCL? What if we are late to port, etc.? Sea Island Lady Posted August 6, 2004 #27 Share Posted August 6, 2004 Sounds like a lot of fun! The Serenade does not go to Kauai, but I like the idea of inner tubes better than being in a canoe type tube. Anyone know where else this excursion is offer...with the inner tubes? ArtM Posted August 14, 2004 #32 Share Posted August 14, 2004 We did Flumin Da Ditch on the Big Island. It was a lot of fun. Since we did go thru some tunnels, we did wear hardhats. Besides protecting our heads, they provided a mounting place for our miner's lights. And people did get wet because we seemed to have to go thru a waterfall at the end of each tunnel. Of course, the steersman had some influence on that :) Art

PGcruiser Posted August 14, 2004 Author #34 Share Posted August 14, 2004 When you did Flumin the Ditch on the big island, what time did it run and from which port Hilo or Kona?
ArtM Posted August 14, 2004 #35 Share Posted August 14, 2004 I'll try to post just one answer to the Flumin Da Ditch question :) If your cruise offers it, it would be out of Kailua-Kona. It is based in Kohala 20 miles or so north of there. We were staying on the Big Island at that time, so we just drove up on our own.
