Can you change a name on a reservation?

Quick question for you experts:

 

Say I book a cruise for myself and a friend for February. THe friend then can't go but another friend is willing to step in. Will Carnival let me change the air and cruise reservation? Is there a place I can see the policy? Looked at their FAQs but couldn't find an answer.

Generally, they say you can do it up to 30 days out (some have done it last minute) for a $30 change fee... however, I am booked on a full group cruise and really having a hard time getting the name changed. Apparently if the ship is full, Carnival can be a real pain... I would suggest doing it early.

Depends on *when* you want to change the name. If it is before final payment, you can do a name change for the cruise for $35-$50, without cancelling and re-booking. Air changes will probably cost you more...
