Any info on Dive shops in Chankanaab?

We have always body surfed and used boggie boards on vacation at the Jersey Shore. Never snorkeled or done diving? Is it worth doing the "mini" dive lesson at Chankanaab? Should we stick to snorkeling? Should we snorkel at Planacar Reef instead?? My daughters want to see Chankanaab Park, is it a whole day experiance? We are in port from 11am until 11pm. I'd love some advice. We are a family of 6 16-24. All the kids are strong swimmers(lifeguards). Thanks. Kris
