shoreguy Posted March 18, 2007 #2 Share Posted March 18, 2007 when do you book your times that you want to dine ? Can you do this before you board the ship Generally you don't ever book the times you eat except the specialty resturants that is why they call it Freestyle. Any reservations are all made onboard. Toyz711 Posted March 18, 2007 #3 Share Posted March 18, 2007 nope. gotta wait until you get there (thank goodness!) might want to see what the main dining rooms are like, you might like them. :) i loved the main dining on our last cruise. what ship are you on and when, then other can help you better. but the new rules are that you can only reserve your tables at the speciality restaurants for a 24hr window. Momof2kids Posted March 18, 2007 #4 Share Posted March 18, 2007 If dining in one of the main diningrooms, you don't need reservations. Just arrive at the main diningroom of your choice at meal time (5:30 and after for dinner, if I recall correctly) and wait a momet to be seated. If you'd like to dine in one of the specialty restaurants, you can book it in the main lobby of the ship and/or call the restaurant directly on a ship phone. My recollection is that NCL has recently changed their reservation policy and you can only book specialty restaurants within 24 hours... or maybe it's within 48 hours???? Someone who has sailed more recently would have better info. on the new time limit.
TC Cruiser Posted March 18, 2007 #5 Share Posted March 18, 2007 Making reservations for the specialty dining can be tricky if you enjoy the evening programs. We ended up eating either very early, such as 6:00, or very late, 10:00 or later. This goes for the main dining as well. We missed a couple of activities when we tried dining between 7 and 8:30. You should have your pick of times even if you book in the early evening for dining the next day. We did try to change a reservation to a half hour later in Le Bistro the morning of the reservation but they were booked.
mommykateb Posted March 19, 2007 #6 Share Posted March 19, 2007 Every morning, from the time we boarded the ship, we were able to book specialty restaurants for the same day or the next day. I believe that if you are in a suite, you can book early for the entire week.
smeyer418 Posted March 19, 2007 #7 Share Posted March 19, 2007 if you have the services of a conceirge they can make the reservations for you, for the entire week at the speciality rest. The wonder of freestyle is for the regular restuarants(sometimes called the main restuarants...you need no reservation you just go and except at the really high water mark(7-8) there is little or no wait.
