**What is your FAVORITE island? Cruising or land vacation?**

I vote for Dominica..the eco-island of the Caribbean. Not the place to party, but wonderful scenery and great people.

Moorea, French Polynesia, has to be the most beautiful island on earth.

I thought that I had died and gone to heaven, when we stood looking up at Bali Hai.

A wonderful island, almost entirely rain forest. Don't be put off by the standard of living, even though many homes may not have indoor plumbing, the islanders are very self sufficent. Their gardens grow year round. The scenery is breath taking. I highly recommend the Carib Indian tour (approx. 6 hours with a long hike back to a hidden waterfall).

 

See the interior first, then the next time, try the whale watching. One person we met said that the diving/snorkeling was among the best in the world.

 

But if you are looking for beaches and partying, this isn't the place.

St. John, USVI - Love the beaches on St. John!

 

My favorite vacation destination for the money is the Mayan Riviera/Playa Del Carmen/Playacar, Mexico. The all-inclusive resorts are such a great value for a tropical beach destination. My husband and I love the area. :)
