KerCar Posted August 2, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 2, 2004 More questions about the Destiny: Has anyone sailed her recently? What has your experience been? (positive and negative) What are the stats on the passengers: Average age? More families or couples? Mostly Americans or people from abroad? How far is SJU airport to the pier? What is the best way to travel between the two? Thanks:)
djuke Posted August 3, 2004 #2 Share Posted August 3, 2004 I thought the ship was in pretty good shape, compared to comments I've heard. I was on the 7/18 sailing and it seemed like there was about 60% non American people on the ship. The Caribbean Credit Union was one of the groups on there, and they had a tonnnnn of members. There wasn't an overabudnance of families, and I'd say the average age was maybe 30-50ish? But of course there were young kids all the way up to grandparents. The pier is about 15 minutes from the airport. We didn't use Carnival transfers so when we got out of the airport (there was 8 in my group) we had to split up into two cabs..they only allow 4 people in each even though they're like mini busses. It was about $19 each way from the airport to the pier total. Let me know if you have more questions.
dms_cruisers04 Posted August 3, 2004 #3 Share Posted August 3, 2004 KerCar, if you haven't already, check out "our" thread here. OctoberDestiny brought over quite a few reviews that were on the old board, so the first few pages are all previous Destiny cruisers experiences.
