smudge's mom Posted March 20, 2007 #1 Share Posted March 20, 2007 Can't believe it is only 174 days to our Meditterranean cruise. CCL will not give the names of hotels they book post cruise packages. Has anyone used CCL and what hotel did they put you up in. Were you satisfied with it. If you booked your own hotel where did you stay and were you satisfied? mamawg Posted March 20, 2007 #2 Share Posted March 20, 2007 Can't believe it is only 174 days to our Meditterranean cruise. CCL will not give the names of hotels they book post cruise packages. Has anyone used CCL and what hotel did they put you up in. Were you satisfied with it. If you booked your own hotel where did you stay and were you satisfied? In 2005, CCL put us at the Cicerone. It is a nice hotel in the Prati section of Rome, which is mostly residential. It is close to the Vatican, but a long walk to the other sites. The con of booking with CCL is that you could probably find a hotel or bed and breakfast for a lesser cost. Then you know for sure where you will be staying. You will also have to arrange for your own transfers if you book your own hotel. Overall, if you book your own air, transfers and hotel you will save and know all that information up front instead of knowing at 30 days prior to the cruise. Booking with CCL gives you peace of mind that someone is there and that you don't have to deal with money issues or arrangements. Having been to Rome before we decided to book it on our own this time. This year we are using a bed and breakfast called Enjoy. It is getting great reviews. Also I booked all our transfers and air and have saved considerably over the last trip. If you do book transfers on your own, try and have at least four people to share the vehicle with you.
