What is your favorite Port to sail out of...

I absolutely love sailing out of Miami....I love that long, slow trip going by all the beautiful homes, the people pulling their cars over to wave to us, and cruising by South Beach! The anticipation to get to the open sea is awesome!!!

Port Canaveral. Nice. Not too far from Charlotte, NC.

San Juan PR is our favorite, but adding the airfare to the Cruise price makes it a little more expensive to travel out of. Miami would be our next one.

Over the years, the "magic" of sailaway has all but disappeared, but it is still an awesome sight as you depart Dodge Island and sail down "Crusie Ship Alley" towards the Atlantic, escorted by assorted small craft, cars on the causeway flashing their lights, honking their horns, etc.

NYC...probably because I was raised in Brooklyn. We sailed by the pier where my Dad worked, and it was just very nostalgic! :)

Galveston...I can be at the ship in 30 minutes.

Even though I can drive to NOLA, I prefer Pt. Canaveral or the Port of Tampa. NOLA was just crazy..what a madhouse! Pt. Canaveral and Tampa really do embarkation well..very organized!

San Juan was my very favorite port to sail from, but now the cost to fly there is prohibitive to me!:(

 

Hey, I'm happy with my hometown port of N.O. EZ drive, and I've found check-in to be a breeze. (Just gotta get there early to avoid the rush.)

So far it's Port Canaveral, but we do our first sailing out of Miami in a couple of months so that could change! ;)

Port Canaveral & Tampa are the BEST.

 

They are fast moving ports. Both times in Port Canaveral from the time we got off our exit to the time we were on the ship was around 30 minutes.

 

Miami & Ft. Lauderdale - hah! Dream on!

Miami......I can be there in about 8 minutes, and it gives me plenty of time to go and take pictures of the ship i'm about to sail.
