the only reason my review is short is because i am very busy and i do not have the time to write a book about why ncl sucks, people are so hostle about post here. i have been on many cruises and i am simply stating that ncl is the worst overall line i have been on and i have been on every celebrity ship, three rccl, hollad america and 2 ncl. i didnt have one problem, i would never make an issue over one problem, it was a variety of problems from a bed being held up with blocks of wood, to rude staff, lack of activities and so on, this isnt a bash of the cruise line or of anyones prior experience. it is simply the truth, i would give ncl another chance if it came up. im leaving 11/27 on the voyager rccl for my honeymoon we have the royal suite, i bet there will be no neg. posts lol

Ok, I am in my twenties, and have taken four cruises on four different lines - Costa, Royal Caribbean, Carnival, and just got off the Crown.

And yes, it wasn't the most elaborate cruise ship, but there wasn't anything wrong with it... the staff was friendly, contrary to many posts I've seen, it was in excellent condition, they had at least four different musical entertainers, as well as a disco at night.

They had the typical activities - bingo, ping pong, shuffle board, trivia contests. There were two nights that they had karaoke and another that had a soc hop.

The casino had slots, black jack, roulette, and craps.

There were multiple bars you could go to.

What more do you want???

If you do read up on the line it is said to be geared towards a 40+ crowd, but speaking as a 28 yr old with previous cruise experience, I had a great time and would gladly travel on her again.

I appreciate people who are willing to talk about their bad experiences especially when they can steer me toward not repeating thier dissapointments.

The truth usually lies somewhere BETWEEN the 'grumps' who find fault with everything and the 'Pollyannas' who consider toilets that don't flush to be a magical vacation experience.

That said, it seems to me whenever anyone posts something 'negative' the frequent posters feel obligated to defend their beloved cruise lines

Sorry about the bad time you've experienced on your cruise. :( I hope your next cruise will make up for the disaster you had this last time around. At least you won the BINGO prize:) BTW, did you write to NCL about your experience and complain to tptb?

For the record.. I'm in my early 20's.. Love NCL... Traveled on the crown in august in an owners suite... While I enjoyed the trip, I wouldn't sail on a ship this small or old again. I found the staff to be wonderful. The food was good as well. The crown is past her prime and should be sunsetted soon.

There are a number of better ships to sail on if you are going to try ncl.
