Breezinontheocean Posted March 25, 2007 #1 Share Posted March 25, 2007 We're cruising on the Grand Princess out of Galveston on 4/7. After reading many reviews, I'm somewhat conflicted as to what time is best to arrive at the ship. Some say that earlier is better while others have said that they waited forever when showing up early yet those who waited until after 1:30pm or so got on quickly. Any advice and words of wisdom from those who've gone before would be greatly appreciated!:)
be1498 Posted March 25, 2007 #2 Share Posted March 25, 2007 We were on the Grand sailing on 3/3/07. We arrived at about 11:30, and were aboard in about fifteen minutes...after a small delay getting to the gangway because there was only one port security guy checking our IDs. Made reservations for Sabatini's en route to our cabin, and we were having lunch by noon!
spongerob Posted March 25, 2007 #3 Share Posted March 25, 2007 We usually get there between 11 and 11:30 and haven't had to wait more than about 30 minutes. Embarkation starts around noon. I could see things backing up a little if airport transfer buses show up in large numbers and you happen to be behind them. Our experience has been that we've been able to get on board quite quickly. bjkTX Posted March 25, 2007 #4 Share Posted March 25, 2007 we arrived about 12:30, dropped the car off, got shuttled to the ship and we were in our cabin shortly after 1:00. Couldn't have been easier - at least for us :-)
