lotsago Posted March 26, 2007 #1 Share Posted March 26, 2007 Sorry if this is a repeat, but I've been searching and can't find the answer. Can teen boys where nice slacks and button down shirt and then nice sandals to formal night or should we pack their dress shoes for just that evening? What do men do? We are trying to keep the packing to a minimum. Thanks!
French_Fry Posted March 26, 2007 #2 Share Posted March 26, 2007 Formal night equals jacket, collared shirt tie, dress slacks, dress shoes & socks for men/boys.
Woe is me Posted March 26, 2007 #3 Share Posted March 26, 2007 Formal night equals jacket, collared shirt tie, dress slacks, dress shoes & socks for men/boys. Your boys will be just fine with what you described, believe me I was on the Spledour in Dec and Jan. ;)
5 in OK Posted March 26, 2007 #4 Share Posted March 26, 2007 Just off the 3/17 Splendour - they will be fine dressed in what you described. The dress was very, very, very casual - even on formal nights for teens/kids. Most adult dressed up - some tuxes - mostly shirts/ties - some sports coats. Women dressed in everything from church-type clothes to cocktail dresses. We made our kids wear shoes - instead of their American Eagle sandles - but everyone in their age group wore pants with a button down shirt and flip flops. And - on casual dress nights (which was the other 4 nights) even adults were wearing shorts - I still made my wear their khakis - but they were definitely the exception! Have a great time!!! This is scary! We are getting on her in the morning (I'm sitting in the Hotel Galvez right now), and I am going to be BIG TIME overdressed from what you just described. I could have left home our suit bag and one suitcase with the level of dress you are describing.

Don't worry about it, there will be plenty of people very well dressed, and I'm sure you will feel very comfortable. ;)

I have seen men in sport coats to tuxs and ladies in dressy pantsuits to very formal. You will fit right in either way.
