Midnight Rain Posted March 28, 2007 #1 Share Posted March 28, 2007 I was reading about the new luggage service Princess will be offering. Is anyone doing this?? I would like to know what it's like if someone does opt to do it this way. Since the airlines are going to start charging for baggage anyway, this might be a good alternative. If it doesn't get too pricey. :) Melanie
B40 Tha Cruisa Posted March 28, 2007 #2 Share Posted March 28, 2007 What is the new luggage policy? What do its consist of?
Midnight Rain Posted March 28, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted March 28, 2007 You can opt to have your bags shipped via DHL. They will pick your bags up at your house, and then they will be in your cabin when you get on the ship. I think it said it was starting at $90 USD per bag. And the price would vary depending on how heavy they are. Melanie
B40 Tha Cruisa Posted March 28, 2007 #4 Share Posted March 28, 2007 Great, thanks for the info. Sounds a bit pricey, but reallly convenient.
Midnight Rain Posted March 28, 2007 Author #5 Share Posted March 28, 2007 http://www.princess.com/news/article.jsp?newsArticleId=na862 There is the link to the article on the Princess site. It starts May 14 on the Grand Princess. I agree it is pricey.... but that would be soooo nice to not have to take a suitcase with you on the plane! I should add as well... that the $90 per bag is each way... so looking at $180 per bag for a roundtrip.
B40 Tha Cruisa Posted March 28, 2007 #6 Share Posted March 28, 2007 I can only imagine! Heres a problem for me however. Many people have complained about having their luggage gone through by princess employees- This is another oppurtunity for to happen. I feel like a lot of things could go wrong- Late arrival, stolen goods, mistaken arrival... Sounds great in theory, but im sure there will be some bumps in the road. Midnight Rain Posted March 28, 2007 Author #8 Share Posted March 28, 2007 I agree. But I never put anything of value in my suitcases anyway.
