Gotta Love Cruisin ! Posted April 1, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 1, 2007 We are a group of 8 flying into San Juan. Need transportation to the hotel when we get there. Are there vans that will take all 8 of us? Or would we have to split up into 2 taxis? Any help would be appreciated.... thanks..
evy1202 Posted April 1, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 1, 2007 There is an effective taxi dispatch service at the airport where they use car, mini-vans and even club wagons that fit up to 7 and luggage. That van can go for about $30 if for some reason you need more space get a taxi-sedan for about $20. The taxi dispatchers in orange shirts will assure the correct price and a receipt. Big Sky Country Posted April 2, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 2, 2007 8 could be a tight squeeze. I'll bet if you have a few smaller people they might be able to squeeze you all in. You'll have to judge based on the amount of luggage and the size of your crew. Things are not so formal that they wouldn't be able to accommodate if you are flexible. Nobody is sharpening their Homeowner's Association rule book down here if you know what I mean. ;) Ask for a van, then you'll need to make the call. caribbean dreams Posted April 10, 2007 #4 Share Posted April 10, 2007 We took a taxi van last time, 7 fit but it was very tight, i was very suprised the driver got all the luggage in the back, the price to the Old Town area was $
Cruzin is me Posted April 15, 2007 #5 Share Posted April 15, 2007 Any suggestions for service FROM Pan American Piers to the airport?? There are 3 of us but probably more luggage than one car trunk can hold!! I realize that I've only departed onboard ship from SJ, and never had to leave by air! Cabs and vans are so plentiful at the airport but I'm apprehensive about at the pier. (and hate the cruise line transfers!) Thanks.
caribbean dreams Posted April 15, 2007 #6 Share Posted April 15, 2007 Any suggestions for service FROM Pan American Piers to the airport?? Thanks. There were 5 of us last time and so we took a taxi van, there were plenty of them waiting around the pier and we did not have to wait to find one. BJAMINGIRL Posted April 18, 2007 #7 Share Posted April 18, 2007 Just got back from San Juan...there was no problem getting a taxi van at the pier going to the airport. We had an early flight and it went smooth as silk.:)
Cruzin is me Posted April 18, 2007 #8 Share Posted April 18, 2007 Thanks to both of you for the reassuring info on availability of taxi vans at the Pan American Piers. I am much more confident about it now! I've been in places where there wasn't a lot of available transportation but I hate the overpriced cruise line transfers. Thanks again.
