harleyriders Posted April 2, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 2, 2007 My husband & I are going to be on the Fascination May 7th and were looking for things to do while in Calica......after looking on here and seeing EVERYBODY talking about Bonnie & Edventures Tours I contacted them and here is some info I recieved from her. Hola Corin! Thanks for your inquiry! Great to hear you are coming to Paradise! We’d be honored to show you this amazing area! The places are incredible! Below are our tour options for your day with us! We can do as much as you have time for with your Calica port of call! We snorkel the underground river cenotes of Dos Ojos. There we see the amazing stalactite and stalagmite formations in fresh, crystal clear turquoise waters. It is in a cave setting, yet open on one side to the jungle all the way around! Great if anyone is a little claustrophobic! We can take you to a beautiful bay to swim with the sea turtles! There is some nice reef there as well. And then on to a wonderful lagoon, an inlet from the ocean that forms a natural aquarium full of tropical fish! We also have a zip line available where we zip over the jungle canopy 600 feet. Great rush! We charge $10 extra for zipline, $15 for 2 zips. Our tours are $50 per adult, $35 for children 5-11, and no charge under 5. That includes equipment (mask, fins, life vest) entrance fees to the places we take you snorkeling, and our guide service. Lunch is not included in our tour, but we know some great places to eat… a nice little beach bar/restaurant right on the bay with swings, tree houses, hammocks… or we can pick up a picnic and take to one of the places we snorkel. Since the Ruins of Tulum are right there, you may want to visit them as well for your day. It takes about an hour and a half to go through them, and then you can spend the rest of your day “Edventuring”! The ruins are $6.50 per person, more if you want a guided tour inside the archaeologic site to explain the history and culture. Price depends on the number in your group. We generally go with you in your rental car. The car rental "Executive" is right there at the port. No reservations needed. You would just drive on down to the Tulum Archaeologic Site. We have our snorkel shop right there along side the main parking lot. You will see a blue awning, and we are 4 doors down from there, under the big tree! With your reservation, we would be there waiting for you. If you need us to provide your transportation, we charge $60. for our car for up to 4 persons. We pick you up near the port at LAPIS-Puerto Aventuras, transport you to Tulum, do the tour, and bring you back to your port at the end of the day. If you are a larger group, we can contract a van service for $130 for up to10 passengers, or $150 for 11-13 passengers. To secure a reservation, we ask for a deposit. You would send a personal check for $50. to my address in the States, and my mother deposits it for us. (check payable to: Bonita Romano) Bonita Romano 109 Olsgard St PO Box 2 McVille, ND 58254 Or we can accept credit card payment for the deposit through PAYPAL if you prefer. The balance of the tour, you would pay in cash or travelers checks the day of the tour. Bring towels, wear your swim suits or have on under your clothes. You should probably wear tennies if you zipline or visit the ruins. Otherwise flipflops or some type of water shoe is good. Also for the ruins, wear a cap or hat (no shade there) and have a bottle of water as it is pretty hot! Sunscreen has to be ecologically safe/biodegradable for the cenotes, reef, turtles, and fish. If you can’t find any, we have it available. Here are phone numbers in case you would need to contact us. Area code not needed if you are in the Playa del Carmen/Calica area. (984) 871 2209 tour shop (984) 875 4151 home 044 984 806 4102 cellular Hope this gives you the information you need to help you plan a day of your precious vacation time here in the Riviera Maya… and hope to hear back from you! Edventure Tours, Bonnie Let me know if you have any more questions! I know thats a long email but I was just wondering if there was any others that were interested in this also as we can save $$ with the ven that they can get. Please let me know if anyone has any interest in this (we will be booking with her by the end of the week!
SunnyDavis Posted May 25, 2007 #2 Share Posted May 25, 2007 Harleyriders, Thanks so much for the post below. I would love to do that tour. I can't find any information online for Edventures. I called the numbers you listed below and both were disconnected. Do you have any website info for them or any other contact info? When you went with them on May 7 did you have a good time? I am nervous that the numbers were disconnected..I have read many good things on these forums about them...but I want to make sure they are legit! THanks for any information! harleyriders Posted May 25, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted May 25, 2007 SunnyD, We had a BLAST with Bonnie!! I would highly recommend them and we will probably go with them again if we make it down there again. Here is her email address edventure68@hotmail.com It may take her a couple days to get back to you but she will. My inly word of advice it take along where you are to meet them because it changed a couple times for us and I left the piece of paper on the ship ( ) and we ended up in 3 different taxis at 3 different places before we got to her (right where is was in the first place!) Totally my fault and she felt bad.....but it was all me....and you know what we met some of the nicest people along the way (everyone of them knew Bonnie and Edwardo and were just on the search of where they might be and calling them and helping us out so much!) The only thing we didn't do was the ruins but that was okay with us. The cenotes were soooo amazing!!! Our fav place for sure. She made us feel as we were long time friends just down for a visit and showing us a good time. I even (stupis me again!) left our underwater camera in her truck and when we got back there was an email from her saying that when she comes back to the states in a couple weeks she is going to mail it to us because its quicker than mailing from mexico. Now you know if we were on a "tour" it would have been long gone...and those were the pictures I was most looking forward to! Any questions feel free to get back to me but have a great time!! SunnyDavis Posted May 25, 2007 #4 Share Posted May 25, 2007 Thanks Harleyrider for the response. I did email them yesterday at that address, hopefully I will hear back. I wonder why the phone numbers are disconnected. It sounds exactly like what we want to do. I hope we can make it happen. Thanks for your help!
