Question for Ecstasy Cruisers

I'll be on Ecstasy in 2 weeks and was wondering how the safe works in the cabin. I thought I'd seen something on here a while back that you need to have a card w/ a magnetic stripe. If I use my credit card, then I can't put it in the safe.

Also, would love to hear if there are lots of trivia type games aboard. My family is very competitive w/ each other and we went to all of the games on Royal Caribbean last year. Just wondering if Carnival activities are similar.

Was there anything you particularly loved about the ship...a show, a bar, menu item, activity? And was there anything that you did at port that you especially liked?

Any help/ideas would be appreciated as this is only my second cruise.

The safes on the Ecstasy are not the type that require a card with a magnetic stripe. Instead you enter a four digit code when you first use the safe.

They do have trivia games on board. The two social hosts on board are a lot of fun. You can view the Capers from my February cruise here.

You will have a lot of fun on the Ecstasy. She is a fine ship.

We are going April 16 th. I am not sure about the safe. I was able to use anything with magnetic strips on the Conquest.

If you are going on the 16th. Join us on our roll call. We have a little nice group going. We are also having an informal meet and greet on the first sea day.

It seems to have many activities planned. Bingo, game shows type, dance lessons, pool contest, kareoke, talent show. You can be as busy or as relaxed as you want to be. Hard to be bored.

I was on the Ecstasy last month and had an absolute blast. That was my first cruise and I don't think I can think of anything really negative about it. I don't know any thing about the safe because I did not use it.

Yes there is a lot of trivia and activities on board. The shows are entertaining as well. Did not hang out in the bars or casino but my favorite place was the Lido deck with the music, soaking up the sun with a cold beverage.

As for ports we took the tour to the Uxmal ruins when we went to Progresso. This was a great tour. You got to climb on the ruins (which left my out of shape legs kind of sore), and the ruins themselves are quite beautiful. Our tour guide was awesome too, you can tell he has a passion for what he does.

For Cozumel we took the Caverns and Beach by Jeep tour. It was a good tour too. However we were on the slowest ferry know to man that took us from Cozumel to the mainland and the end result that our tour was cut a little short. You get to swim in the largest fresh water caverns, and have lunch on a private beach and perhaps the most adventure some activity, drive a Jeep in Mexico...a combination of offensive and defensive drive.

Overall we had a great time on the cruise and in the process of planning our next one.

Hope this info helps, and have fun!

Cindy

We just got off the Ecstasy on Monday. This was our second trip on her and we had fun both times.

The safe uses a simple four digit code.

We enjoyed the shows but didn't care for the comics that much.

Our first trip we went on the jeep tour with lunch on the beach and had alot of fun. This time we opted to just wander up and down the main drag, do some shopping and had lunch. Still fun.

The ship is very clean and well maintained. You will have a ball.
