manuelstar Posted April 5, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 5, 2007 I`m returning with a cruise ship to Vancouver and want to hire a rental car from Avis. There are different locations they have: -Hornby Street, -Laurel Street, -West Broadway -International Airport -local Airport. Which one is the closest to the ship`s port? Is it in walking distance and if not how much is a cab? Thanks for the information.:)
BS_Outwest Posted April 5, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 5, 2007 Hornby Street is 5 blocks south of the cruise terminal at Canada Place. There may be a booth in the terminal, however. If you dock at Ballyntine Pier, you will want to get a cab...... If you want to MapQuest, the intersection if Hornby and west Georgia

Thank you. That means they have an agent right at the cruise ship terminal? And how does it work? I book the car at the "Hornby street station" and they transfer the booking to the terminal agent and have the car there? Or do they have a shuttle bus to the other station? An Avis station "Canada place" is not listed.
weathermom Posted April 6, 2007 #6 Share Posted April 6, 2007 the only rental cars actually onsite at canada place are alamo/national. the other companies run shuttles to offsite locations (usually still downtown though)
