Rain Forest Hike and Luquillo Beach - Then what?

Recommended Posts

We will be in San Juan for 3 days prior to our May 27th AOS cruise and we were planning on renting a car the second day we are there and visiting El Yunque in the morning, then grabbing some lunch and spending some of our afternoon chilling at Luquillo Beach.

Are there any other nearby sites that should not be missed? we want to take advantage of our mobility that day and do a bit of exploring, so any suggestions are welcome!!!:D

Also, any recommendations on car rental companies in the Condado area? We were planning on sticking with the larger, well known companies as we have read many cautionary tales concerning the smaller, local operators.

My MIL and FIL rented a car from Charlie's in San Juan. It's a very reputable company and they got a great price. We're thinking about renting a car the same day (may 26th, the day before our may 27th cruise) to do the same things you are! :)

Thanks for the suggestion!!! Great minds obviously think alike!;)

We checked out the website for this company and the rates are very attractive. We are planning on renting a Jeep in Aruba, but it doesn't seem worth it in PR. A mid-size for $27 a day seems like a pretty good deal and the after hours drop-off and Condado location are convenient as we are staying at the Radisson there.

What are your plans beyond the rainforest and the beach?

We were thinking that'd be it for us for the day...hopefully dinner back in OSJ and then just relaxing back at the hotel as our cruise is port intensive. We probably won't be up and about until ten, and then head to the forest for a couple of hours, stop at the beach for a few hours, then come back to OSJ for a late dinner and back to the hotel for some R&R.
