foft Posted April 11, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 11, 2007 Hi everyone, Does anyone know if the computers on the Pearl can be used for reviewing Word or Excel files, but not for internet? It looks like the charges from the use of the Internet Cafe would apply whether you actually use the internet or not. So its basically a charge to use the computer. Is my reasoning correct? johnql Posted April 11, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 11, 2007 I don't believe it's possible. I don't recall ever seeing Word or Excel loaded on NCL's computers. Plus, you won't have access to any of the ports or drives, so there's no way to get the file onto the computer. The computers are set up for internet access only. I guess it's possible that the Pearl is different from the NCL ships that I've been on, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
dwrist Posted April 11, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 11, 2007 :) With the computer in the Owners Suite on the Star, you can use the computer for other things than internet. But again no Word or Excel programs. Only notepad and wordpad. You do have access to the floppy and cd drives, but again would not help with using microsoft office files.
