cave tubing chicken

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I am a chicken and my hubby is fearless. I am interested in cave tubing but am afraid of "rapids" and fast moving water. Can someone give me more specific details, are there drops, etc. Sorry if the question is silly, but I am the world's biggest chicken!

Thanks!

It is extremely tame. Water is very shallow and there are no "rapids" the fastest the water gets moving is just over some rocks where it is so shallow you gotta put "butts up" my suggestion is to reserve with Yhony at cave-tubing dot com $50 for the whole deal with lunch and it is twice as good as the cruise boat excursion at twice the price..

No rapids, water is fairly slow-moving, not very deep, really not scary at all, just fun. I second using cavetubing.com--they take extremely good care of you. The people we saw who were on a ship excursion were more or less just dropped in the water and had to fend for themselves, while cavetubing.com kept us together and made it very safe and fun.

I'm a weuss too, but my family really wanted to do this. I'm here to tell you that it was great! The rapids were nothing to worry about, and the trip was a once in a lifetime experience. I agree with the previous posters that a private tour is the way to go. Much more personal attention than the ship's tour. If you can do the Lazy River ride in your local water park, you can do cave tubing.

Thank you to everyone who responded! I will definitely take your suggestions and book through the private company. If I book and then the weather doesn't cooperate or something, do the private companies give a refund??

Thanks again!

With Cavetubing.com, the company we booked through, you don't even pay them until almost back to the ship. I think it's the common practice for private tours. If it's just a light rain, the tour might go on; if you didn't want to go I'd just go to the meeting point and tell them. If there's significant rain, the river probably will be closed to tubing anyway, as the water may be higher and swifter.
